Privacy Policy

This policy covers the HobbyShop.ai website: the shop map, the card show calendar and reserving a vendor table at a show. The HobbyScan apps for shops and collectors have their own policy, at pro.hobbyscan.com/privacy.

• Browsing. You don't need an account to browse. Our servers log requests, including your IP address and browser details, to keep the site running.
• Approximate location. To open the map near you, your browser asks geojs.io for a rough location based on your IP address. The answer is cached in your browser for a day and is not sent to us.
• Precise location, only if you allow it. When you tap to find shops or shows near you and your browser shares your position, we use it to sort results. We don't store it.
• Table reservations. When you reserve a table we collect your email address and create an anonymous session to hold the table. We send your reservation code to that email address. Your card is handled by Stripe and never reaches our servers.

We use this information to show you nearby shops and shows, to hold, take payment for and confirm a table reservation, and to find and fix problems. We don't sell personal data, and we don't use it for advertising.

• Stripe: table payments. Payments go to the show's host, and the host receives your email address with the reservation.
• Google Firebase: the anonymous session that holds your table.
• Google Maps and OpenStreetMap: map tiles. They receive your IP address and the area of the map you're viewing.
• geojs.io: your approximate location, from your IP address.
• Vimeo: the video on the home page.
• Amazon Web Services: hosting and email delivery.
• Sentry: error reports, which can include your IP address and device details.

Some of these providers are outside your country. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we rely on the provider's transfer safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses.

We keep reservation records for as long as the show's host needs them to run the show and for any records the law requires us to keep. We keep server logs and error reports for a short time and then delete them.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or get a copy of your personal data, and to object to how we use it. To use any of these rights, email hobby@doejo.com. You can also complain to your data protection regulator.

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal data.

When this policy changes, we update the effective date at the top of this page.
